I was able to download QB desktop but the payroll is not taking taxes out. When I update complete payroll is says to I have no internet when I do. This will allow the internet to connect properly to QuickBooks again. If this doesn't work, I recommend reconfiguring the internet connection.

Quickbooks is a virtual monopoly and acts like one: overpriced, invasive, and arrogant. This version requires registration in the first 30 days and if for some reason the web registration sends you in circles, the only phone given tries to make you pay them to help you with their mistake. I have used this program for about 15 years, and have been forced to upgrade several times either because the CPA firm I used had to upgrade and could no longer import my version, or because QuickBooks prevents downloading banking or credit card information after only a few years.
We really don't need more bells and whistles, especially when accounting is something that should be done in a regular and systematic way. Fortunately, in the depths of my frustration of not being able to use the program that I had paid for because it would not register, the website "gethuman. My advice is if you can at all get by with whatever version you are currently using, don't be fooled by the marketing claims. Have found that occasionally after printing checks from the "print forms" window, if I hit the return key instead of using my mouse to click on the okay button, Quickbooks doesn't record the check as printed in the register.
The check number in the register will say "to print" even though I have a printed copy in my hand. Yes I made sure that the checks were not marked in the print confirmation window. Also, I just finished reconciling my checking account and two checks that were marked as cleared, came back in the next reconciliation as uncleared.

All of those questions are ridiculous time wasters for no one's benefit but Intuits. Therefore I intentionally answer the questions with bogus answers just to make your database of data to mine as wrong as possible guess what I'm not the only one that does this So Product is Ok and does most of what i needed and expected however compared with many software products on the market today its interface is not very intuitive. I would actually go as far as saying the 'dual' presentation of graphical and traditional menu based interfaces actually makes the product harder to use.
Was forced to upgrade from QuickBooks Pro to the version to maintain payroll capability. Not nice. After 2 weeks see no advantage to the "upgrade. There was no online solution to the problem and "close the program" didn't work either. I searched pretty hard but could find NO Intuit phone contact or online support for this kind of installation problem. They simply refer you to a support group or a pay for service group.
